Clinique Bonus for March and Clinique Chubby Stick for Eyes in Pink & Plenty Review

Hey guys!

Any Clinique lovers out there? They're having quite a big promo this month of March. You get this set of deluxe items below when you purchase P4,500 worth of products. Take note that the lipstick is full-sized so this makes it all the more worthwhile. Of course, that's coming from a lipstick addict like me haha! If you have some extra cash, why not step up your game and add P500 to your purchase as every P5,000 worth entitles you to a free vanity case as well. The pink tote is super cute, definitely worth getting in my opinion. You guys know how I love pink stuff as well *wink*.

Clinique Bonus for March 2014

These are the items included in the set (from L to R):
Dramatically Different Moisturizer +
All About Eyes Serum
Moisture Surge Cream
Rinse-off Foaming Cleanser Mousse
Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
Even Better City Block Anti-Pollution SPF40 PA+++
Even Better Makeup SPF15 in Fresh Beige
Almost Lipstick in Watermelon

I already have the full-sized products of the All About Eyes Serum and Moisture Surge Cream. I will be doing reviews of these soon.

Will you be availing of this promo? Well, if you are and don't know what products to purchase, I would like to recommend to you the Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes.

The Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes is a product that was launched last year here in the Philippines. It's an eyeshadow stick with a retractable mechanism that's really handy for applying eyeshadow wherever you are. No need for brushes or applicators so it's really convenient. I bought the shade Pink & Plenty.

Pink Eyeshadow Stick

Price This Chubby Stick costs P920. You might think that the price is kinda steep because you're only getting 1 color for this price, but for me the convenience is really a plus, not to mention that I fell in love with this color immediately when I took a swatch of it at the back of my hand at the Clinique counter.

Color I really love pink eyeshadow, but I'm also careful not to get the same shades of pink as not to waste money. This Pink & Plenty shade is a unique color in my opinion. It's a pinkish gold color. Normally, pink eyeshadows are combined with silver, but this one just takes the cake with the gold combination. It looks much more elegant and it takes the level of prettiness a notch higher. I just got to have this color, especially as this is not easily dupable.

Swatch at the back of my hand

Application No matter how I love this product, I can honestly say that this is a pain in the butt to apply. It's super easy to apply at the back of the hand, but once you try putting it on your lids, that when the drama happens. It applies unevenly and patchy most of the time. A tip would be to swipe it in only one direction, and to swipe as fast as you can. Just be careful though because once the color is already on the lids, re-swiping would just mess it all up.

Applied on the lids

Longevity Here's a super plus for this product. It can withstand long hours on the lids as it has minimal creasing or fading even when worn for more than 6 hours. How cool is that right? You don't even need an eyeshadow primer for this by the way, the colors won't pop out well and it'll be harder to swipe on the lids with the primer on.

Will I repurchase this? I might consider purchasing the other colors instead, I also fell in love with the purple shade but I'm trying with all my might to control my shopaholic tendencies. I am putting off purchasing another color, not until I have finished up this pink shade.

Ciao!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Contents and Review

Front portion of the Naked 3 palette

12 shades inside the Naked 3 palette

Back portion of the Naked 3 palette

Ain't she pretty?

The rose gold casing called out to me saying "Buy Me!!!" The combination of pink and brown eyeshadows didn't help much in controlling me from buying this lovely palette. I love pink eyeshadows, and I love the combination of pink and brown shades even more (just check out my blog's colors haha)!

I've been eyeing this palette even before it was officially launched asking my friend to buy it for me when she was in the States last December. Too bad she wasn't able to purchase it, and desperate ol' me resorted to buying it from an online seller in Instagram last January. In fairness, I got it at a reasonable price of P2800. There's news that the Naked 3 palette just recently raised their prices so it would cost P3000 and up when you buy from online sellers. Lucky me I guess haha.

Anyhoo, on to the review. There are 12 lovely colors in this palette (4 matte shades, 3 glittery shades, 5 frost/satin shades). They are very pigmented so just a few swipes will let the colors show up nicely on the lids. The left side of the palette contains lighter colors, and the right side contains darker colors. The lighter colors are perfect for daytime look while the darker colors are perfect for evening look. You can of course combine the colors to your liking. Just be careful with the glittery shades as they tend to fall out during application. It's best to put powder guards or shadow shields under your eyes so that it will be easy to remove these excess glitters afterwards.

Here's a breakdown of the 12 colors:

Strange: beige matte shade
Dust: super light pink glittery shade
Burnout: peachy-pink satin shade
Limit: old rose pink matte shade
Buzz: bright pink glittery shade
Trick: golden copper glittery shade
Nooner: pinkish taupe matte shade
Liar: light brown satin shade
Factory: dark brown satin shade
Mugshot: taupe satin shade
Darkside: grayish brown satin shade
Blackheart: black matte shade with red glitters

The brush is also a dream to use. It's a dual ended shadow brush, the one on the right side is a flat brush, while the one on the left is a blending brush. For those quite particular with their brushes, I can say that this does the job well. I even use these brushes for my other eyeshadow palettes as it is really of good quality. It's also soft and does not scratch my lids. Brushes like this can cost a lot, and I'm really happy that Urban Decay included this brush in the palette. Putting in the brush makes the palette even more travel friendly.

This is how the box looks like:

Back portion of the box: should contain four numbers and a letter

To make sure that you are purchasing an authentic Naked 3, check out the inner portion of the box. It should have the purple design inside.

Of course, let's not forget the freebies inside the box. For the Naked 3, the freebies are samples of their Eyeshadow Primer Potions, and there are 4 variants of the samples. The variants are Original, Sin, Eden, and Anti-Aging. These potions will help in extending the life of your eyeshadows on your eyelids.

How the samples of the eyeshadow primer potions look like

All in all, I can attest that the Naked 3 is a good buy even though the price is a bit expensive. Urban Decay makes one of the best eyeshadows, and we are paying for good quality. I just wish that Urban Decay will make its way to the Philippines soon. It's really hard to get a hold of their products here, and there are a lot of imitations popping up. I almost bought a fake Naked 3 during last year's Christmas bazaar. Thank goodness I read lots of reviews first before I purchase any makeup or skincare product.

Do you have the Naked 3 too? For me, the colors of the Naked 3 palette are my favorite which is why I chose to purchase this instead of the Naked or Naked 2 palette. I'll post swatches in my next post about the Naked 3 palette. Till then girls!

Artdeco Eyeshadow Anyone?

To start off this post, I would like to share to you gals that I am currently addicted to eyeshadows. Blame it on the Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes (will have a separate review on this) which I bought just last week. After buying that particular eyeshadow stick, I have been obsessed with checking out different eyeshadow colors and brands. When I went to Beauty Bar at Lucky Chinatown, I happened to chance upon this German brand called Artdeco. There were so many different eyeshadow colors on their shelf, and each color is labelled with a different number with samples displayed as well. I'm not sure if this method makes it easier to remember the colors you like, but I guess it would also be hard to name all of these since there are already 500+ different colors.
Eyeshadow colors on display

I can't believe my luck when the SA told me that there were some eyeshadow colors on sale. It was at 65% off! What a steal!!! Each eyeshadow color costs P350 at regular price, but I got mine at only P122.50 each. This sale lasted the whole July. I'll keep you posted when I have news of another sale again.

I bought 2 colors to try out first, numbers 57 (green with a hint of gold) and 247 (blue silver). Then, I asked the SA if they had palettes for these eyeshadows. The individual eyeshadow cases are quite small and I feel that I could easily lose them. Okay, no sale on the palettes booo, and they cost around P295 to P425 depending on the number of colors you can put inside the palette. No way was I going to buy a palette more expensive than the eyeshadows I just bought!
Green and Blue Eyeshadows

Not one to give up so easily, I tried going to Beauty Bar in Greenbelt 5 to check out the other colors on sale, and if there were any palettes on sale. Wow I'm so lucky again, the palettes in that store are 65% off as well, and it's the limited edition designs too! So, from the price of P425, I got it at P148.75.
Artdeco limited edition customizable eyeshadow palette (mirror and magnet inside)

These Artdeco palettes are really cool because they are customizable. You can put in 4 eyeshadows inside the palette. There are magnets at the back to attach it to the palette. You also have the choice to put in 1 blush and 1 eyeshadow, or 1 concealer and 2 eyeshadows.
Magnets at the back of the eyeshadow

Well now I had 2 colors missing, and my palette is still incomplete. I just went back to Beauty Bar Lucky Chinatown to buy 2 more colors. Numbers 97 (light pink) and 83 (dark purple) were my best choices as these colors are easy to match to any outfit.
Pink and Purple Eyeshadows

So yay, my customized palette is finally finished, and here's how it looks like! I just put in a sample eyeshadow brush that I got from Beauty Bar also. There is no brush included in the palette either. So, instead of shelling out P1825 for the whole thing, I only paid P638.75. Talk about big savings!
My customized eyeshadow palette!!!

Of course, I would also like to give you a review on how these eyeshadows fare when put on the lids. The colors actually look really nice when applied, and you can even mix and match or combine the colors to make a more unique but still workable look. Since the colors are all quite light, it will be easy to blend any of the 4 colors together. Even the hint of shimmer is just right, not too glittery on the lids. As I observed, the colors stay on for only about 4 hours. After 4 hours, you will see that the colors are somewhat faded. Just a little retouch will solve this, or you can also use an eyeshadow primer before applying the eyeshadow to make the colors last longer than 4 hours. If you're not planning to stay outside for a long time, this eyeshadow palette will surely come in handy.
Swatches from L-R: Nos. 83, 97, 57, 257

There you have it, I hope you all enjoyed reading this review. What's your favorite eyeshadow brand and color? Just leave me a message if there are some eyeshadow brands that you want me to review. Thanks for dropping by!
